The principal type of information that can be managed with IUCLID includes:

The following subchapters are intended to make the user acquainted with specific IUCLID elements that form the basis for the data management in IUCLID datasets, particularly those used to handle information related to the Company/organisation and the substance. Assessment reports are considered as a third type of information in this context, though generated outside IUCLID. However, attaching assessment reports to datasets may be a required procedure in order to provide a complete submission package, as is the case for REACH registration dossiers (if a chemical safety report is to be included).

The introduction given in the following chapters refers to IUCLID datasets, which form the so-called raw data layer (see chapter B.5 Structure of IUCLID 5). Most principles apply also to Dossiers, which are created out of the raw data (see chapter D.8 Dossier (create Dossier and browse Dossier data)).
