D.9.9. Deleting a Legal entity

Deleting a Legal entity may have a serious impact on data ownership. However, when a specific Legal entity must be deleted, IUCLID displays warning messages. Their nature depends on the type of information or documents that are linked to the deletion candidate. There is only one Delete command for deleting a single Legal entity. It is not possible to combine several Legal entities in one Delete operation.

Caution

Legal entity deletion is an irreversible action.

Legal entity assigned to a user

If the Legal entity is assigned to a user account, its deletion is prevented, and the following warning appears:

If you still want to proceed, the link with the user account must first be removed (see chapter D.16.1.1 What is a User?).

Legal entity assigned to datasets

If the Legal entity is associated to a dataset, its deletion is prevented, and the following warning appears:

If you still want to proceed, the link with the dataset must first be removed (see chapter D.16.1.1 What is a User).

Note

Dependencies include Substance, Mixture, Category, Template datasets or Legal entity sites that are linked to the deletion candidate.

Active Legal entity

If the Legal entity is marked as an "Active trade partner" but has not been assigned yet to any dataset (i.e. it has no dependant element), the following warning is displayed:

If you still want to proceed, click Delete button.

Legal entity with no dependencies

If the Legal entity has no dependencies (e.g. it was created but not assigned to any user account yet), a warning appears. If you still want to proceed, click the Delete button.
