D.11.6. Active Reference substance: assigning/de-assigning

The status Active Reference substance offers the possibility to get a condensed view on the Reference substances inventory.

It is useful in two cases:

  1. To reduce the number of results in a query where you may opt for the option to query only in the pool of active Reference substances, in particular when you wish to associate a Substance or Mixture dataset to a Reference substance.

  2. To "clean up" the Reference substance inventory when Reference substances are duplicated. This may happen after exchanging datasets between IUCLID instances in which the same information was created. In this case, the "Active reference substance" functionality enables to mark the preferred record among the several ones existing in the IUCLID database.

"Active" Reference substances are displayed in bold.

Note

A Reference substance can be associated to a Substance or Mixture dataset only if it has the active attribute.

The status can be switched in different places:

  1. At the creation of the Reference substance (see chapter D.11.3 Feature "Reference substance - New": How to create a Reference substance) via the appropriate checkbox (the default value is set to Active).

  2. By activating the context menu (right mouse click) in the Reference substance query result pane (see D.11.5 Linking a Reference substance to a Substance or Mixture dataset).

  3. By activating the context menu (right mouse click) in the query result pane of the query window, when a query for a Reference substance is performed (see chapter D.11.4.2 Querying for a Reference substance in the Query results).

Note

The modification of the status from Active to Non active (and vice versa) will not modify the history in the Information panel (see chapter D.4.9.2 Tab "Modification history") of the Reference substance.
